The Top 3 Common Mistakes of Affiliate Marketers_2

December 9th, 2010 by gucciwatch10

post by rolex datejust

Here are the top 3 most common mistakes that affiliate marketers make:

1. Thinking that they won’t have to put in any money of their own into their business.

While it is possible to become an affiliate marketer with a lot less “start up capital” than you would need to start a traditional business, such as opening up a store, you still need to put in SOME money. At the very least, you need to have a small budget for things like web hosting and domain names for your sites. Also, while there are some great free advertising opportunities, in order to truly become successful you also need to have an ad budget to promote your affiliate offers online.

2. Overloading themselves with too much information.

Some new marketers read every forum, buy every “make money online” product, and constantly scour the web for new methods, tips and techniques to make money. With so much information at their disposal, they don’t know where to get started. Instead of deciding on one method to apply, they constantly procrastinate and end up doing nothing. Instead, pick a system and see it through to the end.

3. Thinking they can earn money without effort or creativity.

Affiliate marketers usually leave all the creativity up to the merchants and product creators, but that’s a huge mistake. The online world is a constantly changing place. Sites that were practically unknown a few years ago, like Facebook, have now grown into powerful businesses and have become household names. As an affiliate marketer, you need to scout for new offers to promote, and find new, creative ways to promote them in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Set aside time to be creative and time to implement the strategies you learn and think up, and you will be a lot more successful. Just one good promotional idea could be worth a small fortune to you.

The New Level Of Luxury Watches

November 23rd, 2010 by gucciwatch10

Luxury watches are hitting a whole new level. According to UberGizmo, an Irish designer has conceptualized a cell phone that looks like a watch. It’s called the Personal Communications and Organization Device, or PCOD, and the design features a “10-mpx anti-shake camera, GPS, MP3 playback, built-in storage, PIM features, games and even third-party apps” and a “super long battery life along with a 64GB SSD for storage purposes.” You can choose from an array of straps, and it’s also water resistant.four clocks 300x198 The New Level Of Luxury Watches

I wonder what this guy’s thought process was. “I need to come up with something that sounds too good to be true, but is actually incredibly inconvenient and ugly. What will be difficult to use and not go with anything in anyone’s wardrobe, save for people who wear calculator watches? Wait! That’s it! An extremely fancy calculator watch! The next step in luxury watches!”

If this thing does come to fruition it’ll probably be like $500, but the price will most likely drop pretty quickly, since no one but tech geeks who have honed their two-finger typing skills and own 10x magnifying glasses will want it. Plus who will want to go around asking people to check out their “P-Cod?”

All About the Game Beer Pong

October 18th, 2010 by gucciwatch10

Beer pong is a game played with a ping pong ball, beer, or water, and cups on a table with several players. The idea of the game is to have a number of cups, these can be of any kind but are usually plastic, which are put in a way so that they represent a triangle.

Sets of these cups are put at each end of the table the game is being played on. The number is usually six or ten but can be more, providing it still forms a triangle. These are half filled with beer or water, and are put in a way so the first cup on the triangle points to the other one at the opposite end of the table.

Next step is to have players, these are divided into two teams. If there are only two players then each one takes a place at opposite ends of the table. If there are more, then they are usually divided into teams of two or more, which position themselves at the end of the table opposite the opposing team.

The contest is to see which team can get the ping pong ball in a cup, the losing side has to drink the contents from that cup. The game progresses till one side has no drink left, and they are the losers which then have to consume whatever is left in the winning teams cups.

Some games use water in the cups which is not drank, but to wash the ball. This is generally for health reasons as the balls may get considerably contaminated going back and forth. The water is tipped out each time the ball lands in it and the beer is consumed. Unofficial rules vary from place to place and if using alcohol, something cheap and a low content is desirable due to the amount which may be consumed in a beer pong game.

Easy Ideas For a Beach Theme Bridal Shower

October 11th, 2010 by gucciwatch10

Many destination weddings are set on beaches. It’s romantic, it’s a vacation, and most of all it is memorable, especially if the couple really loves the sun, water, and sand. For such kinds of weddings, beach theme bridal showers are the perfect pre-wedding party that the soon-to-be-bride and her friends will surely enjoy.

Planning a beach theme bridal shower is not an easy task, but with a little creativity and help from other friends, one can easily pull it off with a flourish. Of course, every bit of help with planning, such as the creative ideas in this article, will make it even easier.

Since this is a themed celebration, having plenty of time to plan is a must. There are a lot of things to consider like the venue, decorations, party favors, and then there are invitations to be sent.

The ideal venue for a beach theme bridal shower is somewhere with a swimming pool. Here, decorations are key because even if you are far away from the beach you can immerse the guest in a beach ambiance with just the decor. One way to bring the beach into your venue is by stringing paper lanterns around the pool. This creates a focal point around the pool and will serve as illumination after sunset. Paper lanterns also create a festive yet romantic mood for the party.

You can also hang fishnets embellished with seashells, fill an inflatable swimming with sand and prop a life size cardboard surfboard on it. As seating for guests, you can set-up beach chairs and drape them with towels. Centerpieces can be paper lanterns with votive candles inside and surrounded by sand and seashells. You can also place small fishbowl with fish on every table. This will surely create a conversation piece for the guests.

Also, keep in mind that the size of the venue should also allow for games, activities, and dancing. After all, this is a party so you have to keep the guests entertained by bringing in the fun with some loud music and games.

It is also a good idea to request the guests to come in their beach wear and maybe wrap their gifts in something beach-y as well, like a straw bag. This will add to the overall feel of the beach theme bridal shower.

To thank the guests for coming to the bridal shower, party favors are essential. These should also be beach themed. You can give seashell encrusted scented candles, beach towels, beach bag, or a decorative seashell picture frame. There are many options out there on the Internet and in the market around your neighborhood. You can even let your creative juices flow and make your own unique beach themed party favor.

Internet Business – Finding the Right One For You

October 11th, 2010 by gucciwatch10

So you’ve decided that it’s time that you get a piece of that gigantic “Internet Business Money Machine.” Maybe you’re a stay at home mom or dad. Perhaps you’re retired and not quite making all ends meet. You may be a student. Perhaps you’re someone who already has a job, but wants a part time business to supplement your income. If you’re like the VAST majority of newbie entrepreneurs, you have that strong desire, but you’re baffled (to say the least) as to WHICH business opportunity to choose. You’ve probably already done a couple of searches on Google or Yahoo and have been bombarded with dozens internet offers all promising great wealth and happiness. No wonder you’re confused and suspicious.

Your first step, after you’ve made that self commitment to become an internet entrepreneur, is to do your due diligence. This means DO YOUR HOMEWORK! There are hundreds, if not thousands, of offers on the net. It’s YOUR job and responsibility to cut through all the hype and find out just what it is they are offering, and does it jive with YOUR wants and needs.

In this short series of articles, we’re going to examine the structures and formats of these internet business models. I want to make one thing VERY clear: There are many valid and legitimate internet businesses to choose from. I wish I could tell you that all internet businesses are on the level, but this is cyberspace not fairyland. These articles will give you information so that you can make your own INFORMED and INTELLIGENT decision on what business makes sense for you.
We will be discussing the following different models:

* MLM
* 1 Ups/2Ups
* Affiliate Programs
* Internet Shopping Malls
* Matching Bonus Commissions

All of these models have a potential for giving you, the entrepreneur, an income source. However, before you rush to sign up, there are some things you need to know, understand, and accept.

REMEMBER! THIS IS A BUSINESS. You must EXPECT and BE PREPARED to invest your money into starting it and setting it up. Some business models may require an initial investment of several thousand dollars before you begin to see any return. Other businesses may be launched on that proverbial “shoe string.” Understand, however, that the term “shoe string,” is a very relative term, and you do need to define what a shoe string is. For argument’s sake, let’s define it as a start up budget of under $2000.00.

The bottom line is that there is no free lunch. Any internet advertiser that promises you no money needed to do their business, is either offering you nothing or is bait and switching you. Keep in mind that size should NOT be the only determining factor. Some “inexpensive” start ups may be very costly to you in the long run. So the FIRST decisions you need to make is what dollar investment are you comfortable with, and what do you expect that investment to buy?

Let’s go to Part 2.

The Steiff Teddy Bear Story

October 2nd, 2010 by gucciwatch10

In 1847 in a small town in Giengen, Germany a baby girl was born. She was named Margaret Steiff. Her childhood vigor was cut short when she contracted polio at the age of 2. Although confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life, she became a model for strength and determination.

Margaret excelled in sewing and needlework and became the proud owner of the first sewing machine in Geingen. In 1879, she started her dressmaking business. Her dresses, coats and other clothing products were quickly in demand. In December of that year she came across a pattern for a toy elephant in a magazine. She made these as gifts for her family and close friends. Margaret used her expertise to develop other animal patterns and 1883 added them to her price list as a range of felt items. Her business continued to grow and in 1892 she began making soft filled bears, which would later be referred to as Teddy Bears. These bears resembled real bears, posing on all four paws with humped backs.

Richard Steiff, Margaret’s nephew, helped his aunt with design and production of her teddy bears and soft filled animals. An avid art student, he was a regular visitor of the Stuttgart Zoo where he got ideas for animal designs. While touring America, Richard was inspired for a new design during a circus performance. The dancing bears gave him the idea of designing a toy bear which stood upright and was jointed, similar to how dolls were made.

By 1902 the inspiration was reality and Margaret was producing a jointed soft filled teddy bear with mohair plush fur and glass eyes. They were the first jointed teddy bears produced.

In 1903 Richard displayed the new bears at the Leipzig Toy Fair. Unfortunately they didn’t generate much interest in the Europeans. As Richard was packing up his display at the end of the fair, American Hermann Berg chanced by his booth. Berg was a buyer for the New York firm Geo Borgfeldt and Company. At about this time in America the story of Theodore Roosevelt’s ‘Teddy’s Bear’ was becoming popular. Berg placed an order for 3,000 bears.

By 1904 the Steiff teddy bear had become an American success. They were awarded various accolades including the prestigious Grand Prix award. In total 12,000 bears were sold by the end of 1904 with the trademark button in the left ear.

Publicity from Roosevelt’s adventure helped place teddy bears in the hearts of Americans where they remain today. The world record price for an antique bear was made at a December 1994 auction. The winning bid was $176,000.00 for a 1905 Steiff bear. Steiff teddy bears continue to leave their marks today in the hearts of collectors and teddy bear lovers alike.

Nursing Home Do’s and Dont’s – How to Recognize th

September 22nd, 2010 by gucciwatch10

In 1996, the Knight-Tribune News Service reported, “thieves often use Vaseline to ease wedding rings off of the hands of sleeping patients in nursing homes. One case cited an eighty-six year old woman who awoke inconsolable one morning when she discovered her finger had been stripped of her last two life’s mementos: a diamond ring inherited from her mother and the engagement ring her husband slipped on her finger during a romantic canoe ride. She was heartbroken! Nursing home administrators often cover up for the employee doing the stealing by either denying that the theft occurred or by insisting to the victims’ families that their employees’ are honest; not dishonest. Because of this “hear no evil, see no evil ” policy police departments are hardly ever notified or asked to get involved in such trivial matters as a few missing blouses or pieces of jewelry valued under one hundred dollars. If caught, employees are usually fired, but they are not made to make restitution. As a result, neither the facility or the victim’s family criminally prosecutes them.

In July of 2001, CBS news reported a story about Helen Love, an elderly woman who was attacked by a caregiver at a Sacramento, Ca. facility because she soiled herself. “He choked me and went and broke my neck and broke my wrist,” said Love. According to additional reports, Love’s assailant received a year in the county jail. Further articles by the same newspaper revealed that three other employee’s employed by the same facility were convicted for abuse as well. Yet, none of them were ever kept from working in any nursing facility. So why has the nursing home network ignored the need for stiffer background checks? According to the CBS news report in 2001 and articles written by reporters employed by national and local newspapers, most reported abuses are physical, sexual, and verbal.

A congressional report written by Waxman, a top democrat on the house Government Reform Committee, which oversees spending and other operations, said he is introducing a plan that would require criminal background checks on nursing home staff and impose tougher standards on homes with violations. But, what do we call tougher standards when we allow older felons recently released from our prison system, with a history of sexual assaults or violent crimes to work and live in nursing homes, to victimize our senior citizens or disabled children? Congressional reports written between January 1999 and 2001 by Waxman report that over 30% of our nursing facilities were cited for abuse and, the violations were serious enough to cause actual harm, immediate jeopardy of death, or serious injury.”

Charles H. Roadman II, president of the American Health care Association (AHCA), a nursing home trade group that represents 12,000 non-profit and for-profit centers and homes for the elderly and disabled, stated to CBS news in an article written on July thirty-first, 2001 that he believes that “the great majority of long term care in our nation is excellent.” Reading articles such as these, makes me wonder if any of the congressional representatives, senators, governors, other than Jeb Bush, have ever taken time out of their busy schedules to personally visit any of the facilities that have been cited for these alleged abuses, or personally met any of the victims’ families screaming for justice and reform? When it is all said and done there are many simple warning signs that we should look for whenever we are faced with seeking short-term or long-term care. The list that I have provided in my booklet called “Nursing Home Do’s and Dont’s, by Brooke Jennings, is an easy read for the average layperson. Therefore, if you are considering placing your friend or a precious member of your family into the hands of strangers, I recommend getting a copy of Nursing Home Do’s and Dont’s @ brookesden.com
